Twelve months in a bathhouse. November is a yuzu bath, with the fruit floating in green water. June shows everyone gathering at the drinks counter after a school outing. Because a calendar is viewed one month at a time, each illustration needed to work from a distance while still offering small details for people who looked closer. Each month became a single, simple scene with little moments to discover. Delivered 12 monthly illustrations · Date grid and typography · Print layout Why it looks like this The illustration creates the mood, while the calendar grid provides the information. By keeping these two roles separate, they don't compete with each other. The month number is the only large piece of typography on the page, giving the layout a clear hierarchy and allowing the illustration to do what it does best: tell a story.
